Decadent by Suzanne Forster

Guess who gets the pleasure of saying that he finished what he started and stuck with it in spite of that inner critic telling him that he couldn’t?

This guy!.

I talk a little about my reservations going into it and my resolve on the author’s note on Patreon. I’ll leave the link below for your perusal. Truly though, it feels so good to have actually done it. I will be honest and admit that a good challenge is always preferred and although finishing a book within 24 hours is still way too hard for me right now, I must admit your comment was the helpful spoonful of sugar that I needed Shikha, so thank you!

Shikha is an amazing writer with so many amazing poems on her blog, do check her out if you can. Very soon I’ll also be posting a sweet little collaboration we did with her a while back, so stay tuned for that.

Without wasting any more time, let’s get to the book.

Welcome to Club Casablanca…

An exclusive gentleman’s club where exotic hostesses cater to the every need of high-stakes gamblers, politicians, and big-business executives. No rules apply and no unescorted women are allowed.

Ever.

But Ally Danner has to get in to rescue her sister from the club’s obsessive owner, Jason Aragon and undercover FBI agent Sam Sinclair is just the man to help her. In return, she’ll use her inside knowledge to get Sam the evidence he needs to put Jason away. Only, once they get caught up in the club’s hedonistic allure, the favors they end up trading are sensual.

My Take On the Book

.

Now, I’ll try my best to keep this very short and to the point.

Getting into Decadent, I must admit that I was expecting a frivolously raunchy story with mindlessly steamy sex and not much of a story to string me along. I was satisfactorily quite disappointed to find out that this was furthest from the truth.

The fact is, the horny teenage boy in me was more than thrilled to be indulged in the steamy way that Suzanne awakened and toyed with my imagination. Suffice it to say if it were possible I would turn red with every flip of the pages. So you can imagine my surprise when beyond that I found that the story itself was a whole lot more delicious than I expected it would be.

Suzanne definitely has a way with words, a magnanimous imagination, and a cheeky sense of humor which came out quite beautifully in this story.

She goes ahead to spin quite a fictional tale of ghosts and haunted hallways, filthy rich billionaires, exiled princesses, and brooding blonde heartthrobs. Yes, everything that you would expect from a classic romance story. She however steps out of the norm with intricately crafted hidden secrets, intellectual investigations and a spinning twist in the end that I must say was quite ravishing.

Bravo Suzanne.

I will definitely be looking for another of your creations very soon as well as a cold glass of water to down the scorching hot read.

My message of love to you is to keep reading. It doesn’t matter if like me it takes you months to get through the book. Do it. Allow yourself that moment where it’s just you, a good book and your wildest imaginations… and remember… It is far better to be good at ‘one thing’ than to be subpar in ‘everything’.
