Poem 005 – Trepid

Trepid (adjective) – timorous, fearful.

Don’t let me go, let me falter and fall,

To roll in the moss, grow old and cold,

Don’t let me die, let me wither and dry,

 A slow ebbing trepid ending,

Take me up and stroke me gently,

Brush my coat till it shines so brightly,

Polish, dust me, sprinkle fairy dust on me,

Till at last I burst ending lustful thirst.
