Religion – Daily Writing Prompts

The world is populated by billions of people, each with an individual take on religion.

World Religion Day was first observed in October 1947 during an event hosted by Firuz Kazemzadeh.

It has since been marked to celebrate each belief system in the world while allowing everyone an opportunity for awareness.

Happy World Religion Day.

Today our characters get in touch with their beliefs and explore the nuanced facets of religion.

In honor of World Religion Day, write an original story involving the following scenarios.

  1. The character in your story is a religious leader with a scandalous secret.
  2. Your character comes face to face with their religion’s divine being.
  3. A character’s skepticism leads them on a journey of self-discovery and spiritual awakening.
  4. A human rights activist unearths a religious conspiracy to brainwash the masses through a hypnotic drug.
  5. A dictator falls in love with the leader of an outlawed religious group.

Remember to use the tag ‘dailywitheli’ so that I can add your story to my word prompt hall of fame. You do not have to attempt all of the prompts. However, if and when inspiration strikes, do follow the muse.

For today’s prompt, we are tackling Short stories. These are stories with 1501 to 7000 words. Therefore, as always, try your best to stick within the confines of the word count.

Take time to stretch, walk, grab a drink of water, and get back to exploring those religions.

Do have fun with today’s writing prompts.

Until tomorrow,

Eli
